Chemical engineers apply the principles of chemistry and biology to solve problems in the production of chemicals, fuel, pharmaceuticals, and many other products. They design processes and equipment for large-scale manufacturing, plan and test production methods and byproducts treatment, and direct facility operations. Most chemical engineers have a bachelors degree in chemical engineering, as well as internship experience. The average salary for chemical engineers was $97,360 as reported the US Bureau of Labor Statistics in May 2015.

Biomedical engineers design equipment, devices, computer systems, and software used in healthcare. Bachelors degree programs in bioengineering include extensive lab-work, and courses such as fluid mechanics, computer programming, chemistry courses, and biomaterials. The median annual wage for biomedical engineers was $86,220 in May 2015. Further, employment of biomedical engineers is projected to grow 23% in the next decade, faster than the average for all occupations.

Nanotechnology

Nanotechnology is helping to revolutionize many technology and industry sectors, including materials science, renewable energy, biomedical technology, 3D printing and robotics manufacturing. At its most basic, nanotech relies on tailoring the structure of materials at an atomic or molecular scale, to achieve specific properties. Using nanotechnology, new materials can be fabricated that are stronger, lighter, and better electrical conductors, among other properties.

When particle sizes of solid matter in the visible scale are compared to what can be seen in a regular optical microscope, there is little difference in the properties of the particles. But when particles are created with dimensions of about 1?100 nanometers, the materials? properties change significantly from those at larger scales. This is the size scale where quantum effects rule behavior and physical properties. Thus, when particle size is made to be nanoscale, properties such as melting point, fluorescence, electrical conductivity, magnetic permeability, and chemical reactivity change as a function of the size of the particle.

Technical programs are a low-cost alternative to attending a regular four-year university, and you can earn good money as a highly-skilled, technical specialist. If you remain true to your career interests, via RACC Visual Basic programming, your overall job earnings will increase as you gain experience. If you're currently employed, you can take online technical education classes in your free time to advance your career. Massive Open Online Courses are known as MOOCs, utilizing interactive platforms such as Blackboard, and mobile apps. For example, Khan Academy now offers free lecture videos served through YouTube. Then there's Johns Hopkins University robotics competition, with enrolled students from around the world.

Financial Aid Information

Government scholarships and Pell grant applications, combined with academic scholarships, only account for a third of total college aid. Student loans, work-study earnings, and personal savings make up the remaining two-thirds. The official FAFSA website is www.fafsa.ed.gov and is free to use. The earliest that the FAFSA form can be filled out is January of a student's senior year. The IRS suggests that parents maintain accurate financial statements, including tax forms and business records, for use when applying for student financial aid.

Most private loan programs are tied to one or more financial indexes, such as the BBA LIBOR Rate, plus an overhead charge. Financial aid may be administered via the Department of Education or through your school's financial aid office. High school grades are the most important factor in gaining admission to the college of your choice, along with letters of recommendation. According to Western Texas College apartment rentals, an ideal academic record consists of a high GPA in courses of progressive difficulty. Peterson's Scholarship Search Award Database is drawn from Peterson's college guidebooks. Volunteer organizations offer scholarships or grants to students whose background or chosen field overlaps the field of the organization.

Business & Engineering Jobs

As the economy improves, many private firms are beginning to hire more technical personnel. Whether you already work in educational services, or are a recent college graduate, this may be a good time to seek a new position. The Fundamentals of Engineering exam should be taken immediately after earning a bachelors degree from an ABET-accredited program. Engineers who pass this exam are called engineers in training (EIT), or engineer interns. After meeting work experience requirements, engineer interns can attempt a second certifying exam, called the Principles and Practice of Engineering Exam. Finding out about Everett Community College English as a second language, on the other hand, may strengthen your resume in order to appeal to a wider variety of employers.

Hiring managers typically post new jobs on targeted job sites, which we have sampled. Farmingdale State University career programs information may be available through the human resources department. Aside from a good salary, many technical education programs include excellent benefits, as well as retirement plans.
